Practice Group

Do you remember when you were little and someone flew you in air plane (or bird or super man)?  Well some of us never really got over the Joy of that kind'a play with others.  Along the way we found partner stretching, Partner Yoga, or some other form shared movement that touched on that remember playfulness. 

Mayfly is a Practice Group.  Partner Yoga and Acro Yoga are forms of movement requiring an other persons, so we rent space and get together once a week to practice and play.

There are a number of branches of Acro Yoga, we enjoy learning from them all, and that's one of the reasons we practice.  If you are new to the form, we ask that you take the fundamentals class's first to get the basics and exposure.  Coming to the first session can be a bit over whelming.

Also we want to support our local teachers of AcroYoga and YogaBatics so they can keep going to advanced training and bring back cool stuff for us to learn, play with and share. Just ask we'll get you connected to a class or workshop.  Below are some basics to get started, that we think help out a whole lot in our practice setting.


Flying:  base/fly/spot
  • Folded leaf:  Batacanasana, Super Yogi
  • Bird: free bird, bird droppings (push ups)
  • Box Throne, box throne push up
  • High flying whale
Introductory Workshop in Yogabatics, AcroYoga, equivalent 3 hour workshop, or passing a ‘Flight’ Test with Richard is needed for participation in weekly practice group.
